An exhibition of two young artists’ explorations of the spiritual
capacity of asymmetry in sound and architecture. Both Leipelt’s
massive, black sound sculptures (which emit heaving death drones)
and Baab’s intensively detailed tape on panel pieces contain
references to the history of sacred interior architecture. Each
wears their obsessions on their sleeve as Leipelt turns his love
of drone metal into material form and Baab builds impossibly complex
architectural structures in two dimensions. Baab does micro-maximalism.
Leipelt does macro-minimalism. Working together they turned the
gallery into a physiologically charged space, affecting viewers'
bodies and senses.
